Recently, Next Dimension pulled together Siskinds Law Firm, Cisco, and Veeam and we hit the road to discuss the latest updates to PIPEDA legislation. We looked at the legal and technical aspects of the regulations that matter most to your business; mandatory breach reporting, record keeping requirements, and data security and protection mandates.

Drew Johnson spoke on behalf of Siskinds. Drew is an Associate in Siskinds’ Technology, Privacy, and Franchise group. In his presentation, Drew discussed the Ten Principles of PIPEDA, Breach of Security & Safeguards, Records, Offences, and how to create an Incident Response Plan.
Duwayne Watson is a Cisco Security specialist with Ingram. In Duwayne’s presentation, he shared security best practices to remain compliant with the latest PIPEDA legislation updates. He also discussed how to remain secure in today’s ever-changing business landscape.
Duwayne’s Cisco presentation addressed how to secure your data from the inside, from the edge, and from the user perspective.
To conclude the seminar, the Veeam presentation was conducted by a System Engineer and Territory Account Manager. Together, Chris and Sean shared important industry facts as well as tips to remain compliant with PIPEDA.
